Preparatory Meeting in Palermo

Two representatives of the Partner Organization Fundaţia Creştină Diakonia Sfântu Gheorghe - Casa Irisz, came in Palermo at Associazione Uniamoci Onlus headquarter in order to discuss the management of the project: definition of the mobility fluxes for the year 2014, organization of accomodation, insurance and local transport for the hosted volunteers, management of pocket money, needed certificates and documents for the volunteers, definition of tutoring and mentoring for the volunteers, a general overview on the activities and working time durig the mobilities, definition of the dissemination of results.

First Mobility flux:

from Romania to Palermo

Two senior volunteers from Romania came in Palermo for a volunteering experience that will last 21 days, from March 11th to April 2nd 2014.

Udertaken Activities: presentation of the Romanian culture to the young disabled users in Associazione Uniamoci Onlus, teaching of the Romanian languege to them, organization of some handcraft workshops and general support to the usual activies in Associazione Uniamoci Onlus.

Second Mobility flux:

from Italy to Sfântu Gheorghe

Two volunteers from Palermo (ITALY) went in Sfantu Gheorghe for a volunteering experience lasting 21 days! They are two ladies from Associazione Uniamoci Onlus and one of them has a daughter with disability. They participated to the several activities promoted by Fundaţia Creştină Diakonia Sfântu Gheorghe - Casa Irisz helping the staff in the work with children and adults with disability, and in a farm managed by people with disabilities and the social workers. They shared their culture, abilities and positive attitude while learning new inclusive methods, meeting new people and discovering the cities, landscape and culture of Romania.

Third Mobility flux:

from Italy to Sfântu Gheorghe

Two disadvantaged volunteers from Palermo (ITALY) went in Sfantu Gheorghe for a volunteering experience lasting 21 days! They are a man and an old disabled woman from Associazione Uniamoci Onlus and they come from Brancaccio, a disadvantaged area in Palermo city. They participated to the several activities promoted by Fundaţia Creştină Diakonia Sfântu Gheorghe - Casa Irisz helping the staff in the work with children and adults with disability, they visited the farm. They shared their culture, abilities and positive attitude while feeling useful for the others, meeting new people and discovering the cities, landscape and culture of Romania. They enthusiastically shared their experience with the members of Associazione Uniamoci Onlus during a meeeting after their return from the international experience.

Fourth Mobility flux:

from Romania to Palermo

Two volunteers from Sfantu Gheorghe (ROMANIA) went in Palermo for a volunteering experience lasting 21 days! They are two ladies from Irisz Haz, who are actively involved in volunteering activities in their organization in Romania, one taking care of children and the other making the cooking for the users. They participated to the activities promoted by Associazione Uniamoci Onlus, helping the staff in the work with young adults with disability. They presnted their culture and cousine, they shared their abilities with users and staff, teaching how to create Christmas cards with thread and paper and how to work the carded wool (an Hungarian tradition), and positive attitude. While being useful for the others, they discovered the city of Palermo and the Sicilian culture!

Fifth Mobility flux:

from Romania to Palermo

Two volunteers from Sfantu Gheorghe (ROMANIA) went in Palermo for a volunteering experience lasting 21 days! They are a lady (accompanyied by her husband) and a man with a visual impairment with his personal assistant from Irisz Haz; one othe is tha actual cook and the other was the cook in their organization in Romania. They participated to the activities promoted by Associazione Uniamoci Onlus, helping the staff in the work with young adults with disability. They presnted their culture and cousine giving to our users the recipes of some typical hungarian dishes. They shared their abilities with users and staff, teaching how to play with bottles filled with water and how to create crocheted earing and doilies. The previous and future volunteers from palermo, took care of their free time showing them some beautiful places in Sicily.

Sixth Mobility flux:

from Palermo to Romania

A volunteer from Palermo (ITALY) went in Sfantu Gheorghe for a volunteering experience lasting 21 days! He is a retired man from Associazione Uniamoci Onlus. He actively participated to the several activities promoted by Fundaţia Creştină Diakonia Sfântu Gheorghe - Casa Irisz helping the staff in the work with children, gipsy children and adults with disability, and in a farm managed by people with disabilities and the social workers. He had the oppotunity to share his culture, his Knowledge about Geography and History while learning new inclusive methods, meeting new people and discovering the cities, landscape and culture of Romania and the influence of the Hungarian prevalence in that area.
